Ten Years from Now: Challenge 6

Ten years from now seems so far away, especially to someone who is trying to figure out what she might be doing even a year from now. I’m doing a bit of self-discovery right now. I’m not completely sure of where I want to be in life at the moment. With that being said, I’m not sure where I want to be in ten years.

The Coronavirus pandemic added to the uncertainty. Some of my plans I had for this year were put on hold because of the crisis, and I’m not sure when I can focus on them again. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is uncertain about the future because of the virus. Many people lost their jobs, and don’t know when they will be getting their next pay checks.

As the saying goes, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”. Planning is an important part of life, but so is uncertainty and unexpected events. As I mentioned earlier, I’m exploring. I don’t know what I will be doing ten years from now. I just hope that by then, I will feel more confident and sure of myself. Thanks for visiting! See you in the next challenge post!

  1. Ten years might seem a long time Charli, but let me tell you, it just whizzes by if you’re not careful:) Draw up a spider graph with you in the middle and around the circle, write down everything you’d love to do in the next year, then another outside circle for the next 5 years and finally an outer circle for 10 years.

That’s your space and you can dream, anything you want. Then you look at the circles and wonder which one’s easiest to carry out within in the year……. and so how. Or you can look at your outer circle and see what you need to do to get there. Have fun with it. Be specific – you can’t “I want to be happy or happier” cos when you are happy or happier then what? Think what can you do to be happy 🙂

Good luck and I’m certainly looking forward to reading your journey 🙂

Would you like to do a Guest post on my blog? Or would you like me to reblog any of your posts? Let’s get you meeting more virtual people 🙂 Caz xx

    1. You are definitely right! Time does fly! It feels like not long ago I couldn’t wait to be a teenager, now I’m a grown adult and my teenage years are long behind me! You gave some great tips! Thankyou! I really need to focus on planning out where I want to be in the next few years.

I would love to collaborate and do a guest post! Reblogging sounds great too! Thankyou!!

    2. I like that idea of yours Caz.

I use mind maps for the year, as visually that’s easy on the eye. But gor something to look at 10 years ahead, I like that design. Again, it’s so easy on the eye to look at. I shall do this one in my journal, because whenever I get someone ask me where I would like to see myself in 10 years time, I find that hard. Thankfully I don’t get asked that often.

      3. I’m sorry! I found this comment in spam, and I have no idea why! 😂 I’ve been really focusing on therapy. I’ve even been getting homework! 😂One thing I’ve learned in therapy is that you have to put in a lot of work to get better! My experience with therapy is not what I was expecting! It’s been an amazing journey though! I’ve learned so much, and all that I’ve learned has been really helping to improve my mental health! All the hard work has really been worth it!

      4. That’s really good to hear Charli and yes, you’re right, it takes a lot of hard work and wanting to get better. Some people imagine it should be easy, but it’s not. It’s taken many years for people to become mentally unwell, so there’s no quick easy or quick fix to get better.

I’m so glad you’re keeping up with all the homework exercises you’ve been given. It is hard but it’s so worth it, as you’ve said. Well done my lovely. Caz xx

    1. My Dad used to say tell me that saying all the time, especially as I started heading into my teenage years! He would always involve me and my siblings in family planning! He wanted to make sure we were ready for adulthood!
